The ARCs are here!!

You’ll have to forgive a moment of self-indulgence.  I got my ARCs of The Carrier of the Mark yesterday, and I’m physically incapable of writing about anything other than them.  I’ve been hysterically giddy since they arrived yesterday evening, and I’m not sure how long this ‘madness’ is going to last.  Quick someone pass the smelling salts.
So I guess you’d like to see what I’m talking about.  Well here you go…

Aren’t they a thing of beauty? Seriously, I think I’m a little in love.  I spooned with one last night then felt sorry for the other poor lonely souls on my bookshelf, so I guess I’m going to have to give each a turn in the spooning position.
You see, I know I have them, but my time with them will be short.  For soon they will flutter their little bookie wings and want to soar from the nest to descend upon the book world to be judged, scrutinized, misused, or god forbid, even ignored.  I can’t protect my babies once they’ve left the nest, but I can influence the direction they take.
I’m thinking one might find a happy and much loved home in the hands of one of my blog readers, now all I have to do is figure out the best way of finding the suitable match. Ummm, what to do, what to do.  If you have any suggestions, please let me know in the comments.  And in the meantime, stay posted for updates.
Oh, one more thing... fancy having a look at the moment the UPS guy delivered my ARCs?  Well have a looksie here! I caught the moment on my iPhone!! Eeek.

Now, I must leave you, I’ve got some pretty grey and blue recycled trees to snuggle with.
Later.

Monday Morning Bits And Bobs Round Up.

This week has the makings a very fine one indeed.  On Friday, my very gorgeous editor informed me that The Carrier of the Mark galleys had arrived in her office, and that she would be sending me out mine!!  I can’t wait to get them. Eeeeek.
I know a lot of you guys want them too, but I only get a few, so I won’t be able to dish out my own private stash.  But here’s what you can do.
If you’re a blogger or reviewer, you can email me a request for an ARC leigh@leighfallon.com.  Just be sure to include your name, email address, blog address / publication name, and an approximate number of followers / readership.  I’ll pass all ARC requests onto HarperTeen who will be giving them out.
For those of you who don’t get an ARC I’ll be doing a few comps on my blog.  Just make sure you follow me so you can get the lowdown on them as soon as they are announced.
In other news, I’m nearly finished the sequel to The Carrier of the Mark.  I’m doing a serious writeathon this week in a bid to get the first draft completed.  Wish me luck.  Oh and its Bologna week.  All the literary agents and publishers are having a book fest where the rights to books are being bought and sold like hot potatoes.  I need you guys to send all your good karma to Italy, The Carrier of the Mark has sold to Poland and Italy so far, lets karamize it to get some more sales. Woohoo!
And the last thing on my agenda for this post is of course to announce the winner of my TEETH competition.  Yes, it was as toughie and only six people got the answers right.  I wrote those names down on post it and numbered them at random, and then got twitter to pick a number between 1 and 6 and the winning number was 4 which meant Clouse Ever won. Yay! Congratulations Clouse!
Right, that’s me done for now, I’m off to write, write, write.
Later guys.

The Monday Morning Bits and Bobs Round Up

Hello all!  I hope you had a marvelous weekend and that Monday sees you well rested and in fighting form.

Secondly, I’m doing a live chat on Wednesday over on inkpop.  The live chat is with my agent, Tina Wexler and we are accepting questions now on this tread.  By all means, please pop in at 5pm EST and ask us a couple of questions.  This is your opportunity to get the low down on snagging a top quality agent, or to chat to Tina about cute little things like kittens and puppies (Tina has a soft spot for fluffy things).

This weekend I’m off to the book launch of Clarity by Kim Harrington.  It’s at Tatnuck Booksellers, Westborough, MA on Saturday, March 5 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm, if you in the area, pop in and say hi.

Then on Sunday I’m off to Ireland to say hi to my new nephew/niece, and enjoy a five day whirlwind visit filled with fun and frolics, on the emerald isle.  So that means next week’s blog posts will be coming to you from across the Atlantic, so the times might be a little skewie.
So that’s it, for now.  Talk to you Wednesday for some whinging.
